We found the hotel an excellent base for exploring this part of Portugal. We were fortunate to have a sea view suite which is really worth the additional cost as the space, views and comfort was amongst the best that we have received on our travels. We also enjoyed the Spa and the Hotel has an excellent Gym .
We couldn't fault anything about the Hotel with the exception that we thought that Wi Fi should have been provided free of charge (even if it was only in the Hotel lobby).
Stayed here for a weeks holiday, went on previous reviews and I must say it was exactly as people had described it. Wonderful hotel comfortable clean spacious rooms, excellent staff had a massage which was very good and the location was perfect to get to restaurants and shops and only ten mins drive from faro . We didn't get to go to the islands but will do that next time , we will definitely be returning :) so was great to have English tv channels to keep up with the Olympics ! And rooms are sound proofed didn't hear a thing when we were in our bedroom excellent hotel definitely recommended!
The bedrooms were particularly good as was the pool area.
The entrance area was very large, unfurnished and unwelcoming so one's initial impression was not good. Restaurant area was extremely large and slightly canteen like. Food generally was very good although the menu didn't seem to change and one 'Special Event' the food was extremely poor - most people sent it back and the cost was 30 euros. We, along with a lot of people, complained and we were just given a form to fill in!!!!!!
I found it a well-designed, very comfortable hotel in an attractive location. As an artist, I enjoyed being able to sunbathe and paint on the terrace, which has a lovely view of the marina and the lagoon.
I thought it a pity that the food in the very pleasant restaurant wasn't more adventurous. Although it was attractively presented, there was the same menu every night, and no dish of the day.
This hotel was one of the best I've ever been in. Quality was excellent for the price. The champaign breakfast every day was over the top. The spa facilities were wonderfully clean & relaxing after a busy day of activities......beautiful view from indoors and outdoors while swimming. The message I recieved was heaven. The room service was better than I've ever had. The quilt was too warm, so they instantly replaced it with a cotton blanket.......just right. The pillow was a bit big and it was immediately replaced by a pillow just right. The location was excellent and desk service provided excellent information. The location was superb. Many restaurants around the corner so every day you could pick and choose according to taste and mood where you wanted to eat. The markets, shopping and boats to the islands were all just a few steps from the hotel. Everything was perfect. Soon as we have time, we're coming back.
We have always booked a room here with sea view, this time we didn't and regretted it because it was a bit chilly at the back with no sun.The rooms are actually all the same ,so excellent but just not warm enough.
New hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good bed & power-shower. Marble bathroom. Don't miss to take a room with seaview-balcony. Good restaurants (try o horta), markets, ferries to the islands are all nearby. A taxi ride to Faro is around 15 Euros.
Fully justified as 5star, staff very polite and friendly, excellent treatments at spa, free underground car park and very nice decor throughout. A fabulous place to stay, we will definitley come back again! It's worth the extra money to have a room with a view from the front of the hotel overlooking the pool and out to the islands. The food was excellent and room service very good and prompt.
Just a couple of minor points....firstly there were no boxes of tissues in either the bedroom or bathroom and secondly we were expecting a double bed in the room not two singles.
Staff were excellent. We had a 2-yr old boy with us, and the staff were excellent with him. The buffet breakfast was great. Very nice pool area. Room was very comfortable. A short walk to the nearby restaurants. Area felt quite safe. A 15/20-min walk to train station, easy to get a train to Tavira for a day-trip. Easy access to boats to take trips to nearby islands (but be careful not to be overcharged for fish - if the cost is per Kg).
Buffet meal in hotel is ok, but it's in the same room as breakfast, so it's better (for atmosphere and value) to go to the nearby restaurants for a change of venue.
Business fair hotel in front of marina. Nice hotel for a weekend getaway, not so good for vacations, piscatory village center 100 meters away, beaches reachable only by ferry-boat (islands). Spa staff is excellent and very professional. Small pool but with sufficient sunbeds and space by the pool for hotel capacity.
Gymnasium is open to public, meaning that on the end of afternoon is a bit difficult to get a free machine. There's no towel or water on gymnasium, even for hotel guests. No body lotion or slippers at room. This is weird in a 5 star hotel.
This is a lovely contemporary hotel within easy reach of Faro airport on the edge of Olhao. It overlooks the Ria Formosa nature reserve and marina so if you can get a room with a sea view I'd recommend it.The staff are well trained and were courteous throughout our stay. The Buffet breakfast was comprehensive and the pool area well maintained and clean with plenty of sunbeds and a poolside bar serving good food.We didn't eat at the hotel in the evening as there are plenty of restaurants along the main road running along the seafront. My partner booked a massage which was also very good.Brilliant for a relaxing mini break-and even at the end of October sunny and warm.Olhao old town very pretty and worth a look.
The actual location of the hotel along the main road feels a little bleak and there is quite a bit of development going on.I Wouldn't say it was particularly well equipped to cater for the needs of teenagers, although we were there out of season so maybe more goes on during the main holiday period.
The hotel was spacious and modern and very quiet - good soundproofing. The staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast buffet was excellent, as was the food served during the day . We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening , so cannot comment on that. The outdoor and indoor pool were both of a high standard. The spa facilities seemed to be quite busy, but again did'nt use any, so cannot comment on the quality. We upgraded to a seaview room, which had a hugh balcony and we feel we made the right decision, as the views from the back and side did not look so relaxing.
One day they forgot to service our room, so we had to phone down to request it, but an apology was made. A lot of comments about the price of the wi-fi, which in this day and age and in a higher class hotel, are usually free. I think, certainly in the bedrooms, it should be included in the price of the room.
Friendly check-in, lovely room with a comfy bed, tv, fridge, bathrobes and beautiful en-suite with bath/shower, his and hers sinks, hairdryer and fluffy towels, we had a room at the back of the hotel as we have a seaview at home every day, but I would recomend the front facing rooms if you are on holiday. The buffet breakfast was one of the nicest we have had, from lots of different breads, cheese, meats, yogurts, full english, fresh fruits, tea, coffee, chocolate, juices and sparkling wine, check-out was fast and easy and they let us leave our car in the car park while we went shopping, we will be staying again.
The apartments are huge, brand new and sparkling clean.
Even though the apartments are well equipped, there's no washer, which I consider important in a beach destination with kids. Also wireless Internet is not available, not even paying.
The apartment is a fantastic value for 81 euro. They are larger then any hotel room you can stay in with full kitchens, living and dinning rooms and a nice bathroom. Plenty of space for two people and a child, but might be crowded with three adults. If you plan to cook meals this apartment is perfect, but make sure to bring some basics like sponges, soap and paper towels as none of these are provided. You do not have free use of the hotel pool, but you can use the spa and every day there are half price spa treatments that are great.
As stated in earlier reviews the apartments are not at the beach. Ferry's are easy to catch though and you can be on Armona within a 15 minute ferry (this leaves once an hour) or Foral within 50 minutes (this is a fantastic beach, but the ferry only leaves every couple of hours.
